Integrated with Interactive Multimedia, Games and Printable Resources
"Hi, I'm Lesley Beth. I love keeping in contact with all the teachers and parents using Jazzles.
Last month (April 2011) I received an email from a PreK teacher. She wrote:
"Using Jazzles, I could see my children change from shy. unsure 3 year olds to confident 'big' kids! The children love Jazzles and they learn. I know there is a lot of scientific research behind the program, but the most important thing is that the kids love it. It keeps them engaged, involved and having fun."
I developed Jazzles for 5 year olds. But one of the great surprises of transforming the songs and worksheets into
multimedia has been its success with children as young as 3 years from very varied socio-economic backgrounds as well as ESL and Special Needs.
Where ever used, preschoolers absolutely love the program's creative mix of music, song, karaoke (image below), drama and craft to power not just early literacy but also skills across the curriculum.
This includes technology. I try never to underestimate the capabilities of today's children. So it has been great to find 3 year olds navigating the Jazzles menus on their own with apparent ease and self confidence!
Jazzles Multimedia combines technology experiences for group activities as well as self-paced learning.
Preschool to Kindergarten Ready
Many of children sadly fail in their first year of school by not engaging emotionally or struggling to keep up, lacking the resilience and confidence to persist and achieve.
This is why I am proud to say that Jazzles really does intellectually and emotionally happily engage all children from as young as three irrespective of their background and general motivation.
Developing both Cognitive and Non-Cognitive Skills
While Jazzles deliberately targets Literacy, it is play-based with a wide range of interactivities to develop the social and personal skills that are so important for succeeding at school and in life.
It is all explained in the Teachers Manual, including generic weekly lesson guides.

"As for how Jazzles is going, my group of children do not want any other website or computer program but Jazzles. To say they love it would be an understatement!!! Most have mastered the complete alphabet and can name something that begins with each letter.
Remember, my students are 3 years old, they still have another year of Pre-K. Pre&-K4 teachers beware, this group will keep you on your toes.
"
After just a few weeks using Jazzles Animations, two 4-year olds in an Ohio Pre&-K shows off their early reading skills!
In this video shot January 2011, the children are tracking words one by one and even self-correcting.
Jazzles uses musically themed, alliteratively rich, lyrics created as animations as the starting point for reading development.
The lyrics are presented as 'Matching Captions'. Holistically, a binding relationship is created between the sung lyrics, the sound track, the visualization and the Matching Captions that enables young children to ‘take-out’ letter-sounds, while familiarizing themselves with words, phrases and meanings.
By mixing entertaining cartoons with catchy music, prolifically alliterative alphabetic lyrics and specially formatted subtitles, Jazzles entertains while powerfully, yet intuitively educating.
Each animation is integrated with interactive games, play, drama and craft to develop literacy skills along with other essential cognitive and non-cognitive skills children need to successfully enter Kindergarten.
About this Video: The video was shot in the children's first week of using Jazzles working with the letter aA.
The aA animation is about an angry alligator who bullies an African ant.
The teacher used the Lesson Plan notes to discuss with her students how it is never kind to be a bully.
This is one of many Little Life Strategy topics generated by the Jazzles animation storylines.
The teacher then reinforced the message by creating a worksheet with a relevant printed caption line from the Angry Alligator Song Lyrics.
The line says: "An angry alligator told an African ant."
Rather like storyboarding, these Pre-K children and their classmates have each drawn a picture to express their interpretation of the angry alligator lyrical line - so reinforcing comprehension.
At just 4 years old, immersed in the storyline, both are now reading the printed text left to right, so mastering an essential skill of one of the 6 big ideas of literacy - 'Concepts About Print'.
Jazzles Building Confidence
At this Ohio Preschool, the class of 3-5 year olds started reading sight words in December 2010, including short phonetic words.
"Jazzles," says the teacher, helps in particular "with larger vocabulary words, that I normally would not introduce. I love the challenge that it offers. I never would have approached larger vocabulary, but with Jazzles it is possible. It helps builds confidence."
Jazzles multimedia resources help Pre-Schools create a literacy rich environment where children work intellectually and emotionally fully engaged with letters, sounds and writing every day.
All the children at this PreK read fluently before they reach kindergarten due to the focus and fun of reading in different modes throughout the day.

Experiences! Quotes from Pre-K Teachers
"My class is having a blast using Jazzles! I tried limiting the letters they were to 'visit' to the letters we have worked on, but they had their own ideas. They love exploring all the animations, puzzles and other activities."
"We are down to our last 11 days of school!!! We have been busy 'testing' our students. I"m happy to report that 13 of my 15 students knew all the letters in the alphabet and could name something that began with each letter, such as 'Munching on My Melon'. Their vocabulary scores also showed vast improvement"
"Boys do learn differently from girls and I do see Jazzles keeping them engaged and interested. I see all the children"s vocabulary growing by leaps and bounds, because of Jazzles and because I read to them many times during the day. Using Jazzles gives us many opportunities to read about what they have seen on the video and learning how different people use different words for some common things. Example, ice blocks, we learned that phrase is used in Australia among other places. Of course we had to find Australia on the globe read about people in that country. Thanks for helping make the remainder of this school year exciting."
"As you know, children love Jazzles!!! No matter what I do, most children can"t focus for very long when the material is boring. But my kids love Jazzles, they love the singing, dancing and activities we do. My kids have been asking to see their old friend the alligator and those munching melons!!!"
"I"m always looking for something new that gets me as well as my students excited.
Jazzles has given me another way to prepare my students for kindergarten and life. Thank you for allowing me to help and to use Jazzles!"
"I"ve enjoyed helping, and my kids are learning so much from the program. Yes, their vocabularies are growing. While playing on the playground the other day, my kids were 'being' Terrifying Tigers, they really had it down pat. It was wonderful to see the joy and excitement they get from the animations."
"Things are coming along great. Now instead of we are going to music, we are going to Jazzles. They know eight songs already and have hand motions to go with them. I am just so glad that you created this curriculum, because if the kids are happy, that is what matters most."
"What I am noticing is that the children are singing the songs while they work, as well, and during transition time. Now, I also use Music Together, but I have never heard those songs sang like Jazzles. It is bringing a lot of unity to the group."
"I have used many programs, and Jazzles is the first program that the children request. So, it will sell itself. The kids love it, and I do too."
"I will be using Jazzles throughout the day, as a complete program. It will be utilized through, art, science, music and movement. It is interactive and develops the whole child."
"The kids are loving Jazzles and one of my students cried today because we didn"t have time for Jazzles, I mean real tears."
"My assessment were done last month. I have noticed an increase in letter/sound recognition. There has been an increase interest in reading as well. What I notice most is the unity that the songs bring to the group. They will just be sitting there ready for snack...and they will start singing Blue Bus. That brings tears to my eyes, because they will have fond memories of singing those songs together."
"They are excited about Jazzles, and ask for it daily.
They just love it!"
"The boys are enjoying the songs and using the vocabulary words with Jazzles. Something that I had difficulty in the past. The especially like the videos with the characters. They are the first to notice something extraordinary. Jazzles is an excellent voconics tool, that exercises the use of extensive vocabulary."
"Jazzles, is priceless. I have paid 70.00 monthly for a theme based curriculum. Now, I no longer need to use that plan, because Jazzles allows me to develop and create at my own pace. It has developed imagination, fun and creativity that was not there before...Priceless."
"I am speechless, this is excellent. I am thrilled to have found such a tremendous program. This is thorough and complete, it allows the teacher to relax and have fun. I have purchased programs in the past that left me still doing all the creativity. Jazzles is creatively complete."
"The kids love the program. We are using now the letter A. They are learning about ants and alligators. They love the story line and they thought it was funny, especially the boys. There are questions being asked and curiosity is setting in. I can"t say enough. They just love all the games. The background song is just clever, they sing while they are playing games. Just beyond words. Jazzles is the best - - ever!"
"I will be using Jazzles as the core of my preschool program. Not only is it reading, it"s educational. We learned about how the alligator has 80 teeth and the difference between an alligator and a crocodile. We have had a great week. The kids have drawn pictures of the alligator and collage work with alligators."
"They are singing the song by rote memory, I am amazed myself. The kids are saying the story over and over. The program is already so well rounded, it beats any program out there, and I have seen many. You have already done so much for my program, you just don"t realize it yet."
"This program has added happiness and excitement to my program. I am truly thankful. I will have memories to embrace and cherish. I am near tears writing this. This curriculum is just what I was looking for. It is excellent, and I am thrilled to use it to enhance reading and creativity."
"The story lines are so cute, the kids love them. They recognize about 35 sight words and they know how to sound out short phonetic words. They are loving it. It will enhance reading."
